Framework agreement at SKF
The IMF has signed an international framework agreement for the Swedish-based company SKF, covering 39,000 employees at 80 manufacturing sites in 22 countries.

SWEDEN: An international framework agreement (IFA) has been signed by the management of SKF and the president of the SKF European Works Council, also representing the International Metalworkers' Federation.

This is the sixth IFA signed by the IMF.

The agreement at SKF – a worldwide manufacturer of rolling bearings and seals – acknowledges the company's social responsibility and the basic right of all employees to establish and join trade unions of their choice and to bargain collectively.

The agreement also states that all employees must be treated equally, fairly and with respect, regardless of race, gender, age, national origin, disability, caste, religion, sexual orientation, union membership or political affiliation.

Note: The first framework agreement for the metal industry was signed at Merloni Elettrodomestici, in December 2001. Since then, the IMF has signed framework agreements with Volkswagen, DaimlerChrysler, Leoni, GEA and now SKF. More are to follow.
