CNM-CUT introduces quotas for women
Brazilian affiliate CNM-CUT has voted to introduce quotas for women's participation in its elected board as well as in all union activities.

At its 6th Congress CNM-CUT voted to ratify a new statute establishing that women should hold at least 30% of all elected board positions. In addition, the Congress adopted a quota for women's participation in activities such as congresses, plenaries, delegations, seminars, courses and meetings. The quota will be of the same proportion as women's representation in the membership.
