IMF World Congress 2009
Metalworkers from different countries of the world are going to participate in the 32nd IMF World Congress taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden, May 24th – 28th.

Nearly 800 delegates from unions around the world will come together to debate the most important issues for metalworkers globally.

The theme for this year's Congress is Secure Jobs for a Secure Future and the impact of the global financial crisis and the growth of precarious work will be critical issues.

A key outcome for the Congress will be the endorsement of the IMF's action programme for the next four years, which will set out the best ways to improve rights and conditions for metalworkers.

Meetings for the Finance, Executive, Central and Rules committees and the IMF's Women's Conference will also take place around Congress.
