"Make James Hardie Pay!"
The company James Hardie, target of a global union campaign, is attempting to deny thousands of workers compensation for asbestos-related illness and death.

Once Australia’s largest producer of asbestos products, James Hardie has attempted to avoid its legal and moral responsibilities to asbestos sufferers by deliberately moving assets worth A$1.9 billion ($1.3 billion) from Australia to the Netherlands and out of legal reach from claims for compensation.

The IMF and its affiliate unions in Australia and the Netherlands, along with other trade unions and asbestos sufferers’ support groups from around the world, are fighting to ensure James Hardie provides for the compensation of its victims.

The campaign, Make James Hardie Pay, includes customer boycotts, industrial bans on the use of its products, protest rallies and calls asking shareholders to bring the company to account.
