The IMF Africa Office was established in 1984 as an IMF Council office in Johannesburg, South Africa. The regional office has 28 affiliates.

Canada pulls the plug on the Kyoto Protocol

Whilst delegates at COP17 agreed to extend the Kyoto Protocol to 2017, at best this protocol, the only legally binding agreement to reduce emissions, is on life support, with Canada being the first to pull the plug.Dec 19, 2011

NEWU joins the ZCTU in commemorating World AIDS Day and Human Rights Day

The National Engineering Workers Union of Zimbabwe (NEWU) joined the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) in commemorating the World Aids Day under the theme “Getting to Zero” under which the ZCTU and its affiliated trade union’s commit to working towards eradicating the HIV pandemic.
