CNM-CUT introduces quotas for women

Brazilian affiliate CNM-CUT has voted to introduce quotas for women's participation in its elected board as well as in all union activities.

At its 6th Congress CNM-CUT voted to ratify a new statute establishing that women should hold at least 30% of all elected board positions. In addition, the Congress adopted a quota for women's participation in activities such as congresses, plenaries, delegations, seminars, courses and meetings. The quota will be of the same proportion as women's representation in the membership.Nov 19, 2004 – Jenny Holdcroft
